I was scared.
This new world wasn't mine.
But I stayed strong
(you always wanted me to be strong)
and I survived.
Until I met them.
My new family.
They took me in, cared for me, kept me safe.
And I thought I could forget all that pain.
But it found me again
and I lost my new family.
My new friends.
I travelled alone
again
and I met him.
The man my mother abandoned me for.
He too made me feel safe, cared for.
But it was all a lie.
He only cared for my mother's memory
and his revenge on you.
But I stayed strong like you had always wanted me to be.
Like you wished you could be too.
Maybe one day.
And I travelled alone,
because you weren't there to travel with me.
